Throughout May, the Health Federation of Philadelphia made the most of Mental Health Awareness Month by offering a series of events and sharing resources with staff members.

Maria C. Frontera, Senior Director, Children, Youth and Families Division, shared resources on emotional wellness and personal responsibility and accountability in fostering mental health awareness and personal growth.

Mary Carol Campbell, Director of Behavioral Health Integration, facilitated an activity at HFP’s all-staff meeting for colleagues to connect and build team resilience.

Kristyn N. Bennett, Director of Administrative Services, and Marla A. Barr, Human Resources Director, presented a virtual dialogue about how mental health and stress affects individuals at work and how to prioritize wellbeing in the workplace.

And in a fun way to cap the month, at both the 123 S. Broad St. and Oxford Mills locations, Mental Health Boost Bingo provided welcome levity (as well as pizza).

“We believe it’s important to keep the topic of mental health as part of the overall health conversation,” said Dr. Barr. “By providing information and resources, and normalizing the conversation, we strengthen our workplace and our employees.”
