JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Clinician Training
    • Interview candidates for position of Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC)
    • Arranges BHC schedule and clinic placements
    • Training and orientation for new BHCs
    • Supervise all BHCs:
      • Biweekly individual meetings for initial 6 months, then monthly
      • Lead monthly group team meetings and group supervision
      • Provide routine BHC shadowing and feedback
      • Conducts annual evaluations, needs assessments, and collaboratively develops plan for individual BHC professional growth
  • Program Development
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Medical Director for AHS, Clinical Directors at each Health Center, outpatient mental health programs, Substance abuse treatment facilities, CBH and other insurance agencies, Health Federation of Philadelphia, among others
    • Meet with Health Center Clinical Directors to discuss and implement effective BHC integration, as needed
    • Ensure implementation of departmental policies and procedures, update when appropriate
    • Oversee expansion of MOUD services at health centers, alongside AHS Medical Director. Submit monthly MOUD reports to Medical Director.
    • Leads to BHC Quality Improvement team and quarterly meetings. Oversees implementation of QI strategies.
    • Lead quarterly Substance Use Treatment workgroup meetings
    • Supervise SDOH Patient Navigator and MH-SUD Patient Navigator, alongside AHS Sr. Administrator
    • Assist with implementation of behavioral health related grants, when applicable
  • Patient Care
    • Provides direct patient care 2 full days/week

Education/Credentials

  • LCSW, LPC, LMFT or PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology

Skills/Experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • 5 years minimum experience in an integrated care setting 
  • 5 years since fully licensed to practice preferred
  • Training in behavioral medicine and health psychology
  • Experience working with EHRs
  • Experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge and experience with chronic medical conditions
  • Knowledge and experience with chronic mental health conditions
  • Knowledge and comfort with diagnostic assessments
  • Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Problem and Solutions-focused treatments
  • Training in substance abuse identification and treatment
  • Knowledge of basic psychopharmacology

Work Environment:  Standard office setting with extended periods at workstation and periodic use of office equipment.

Position Type and Work Schedule:  Fulltime position, typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
