Job Summary
Home Grown, a fiscally sponsored project of the Health Federation of Philadelphia, is a national collaborative dedicated to creating a more inclusive child care system that values and supports home-based child care (HBCC), including care provided by family, friends, and neighbors (FFN). The Digital and Social Media Content Manager will bring Home Grown’s communications strategy to life across digital platforms. This role manages digital campaigns from planning through evaluation, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and collaborators to ensure high-quality, on-time execution. The manager is responsible for leading vendors and cross-team workflows, maintaining strong communication, and driving accountability across teams to produce content that extends Home Grown’s influence, strengthens the field, and connects our work to communities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities/Duties
Campaign Management & Strategy
- Plan, manage, and track digital campaigns from concept through evaluation ensuring timelines, deliverables, and cross-team inputs stay on track.
- Manage internal coordination maintaining clear communication, status updates, and accountability across teams and individuals contributing to each campaign.
- Document and share campaign plans, milestones, and learnings to strengthen organizational practices over time.
- Ensure alignment of content with organizational strategy, tone, and values.
- Ensure digital content campaigns deliver measurable outcomes aligned with Home Grown’s goals.
Content Design, Development & Oversight
- Develop and post compelling content for social media channels, including graphics, copy, and short-form video.
- Oversee and own Home Grown’s digital content calendar, ensuring coordination across internal teams, campaigns, posts, and launches.
- Manage and update the Home Grown website, including designing and adding new pages and call-to-action features. Develop a quality improvement cycle to ensure reach, impact functionality of the website.
- Develop and oversee blog posts and other digital copy.
- Support the design and production of web-based products and multimedia materials.
- Design and layout one-pagers, short briefs, and event invites.
- Establish and maintain processes that ensure timely reviews, approvals, and publication across channels.
Community Engagement & Monitoring
- Serve as the organizational voice in digital spaces, ensuring engagement reflects Home Grown’s values and strategy.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across channels, ensuring a timely, consistent, and strategic organizational voice.
- Track and share relevant news and sector updates with the team.
Analytics & Learning
- Collect, analyze, and interpret digital engagement data to inform decision-making.
- Interpret analytics to identify trends and adjust digital strategy for greater impact.
- Produce regular reports and share key insights with internal stakeholders to guide content planning and performance improvement.
- Recommend platforms, formats, and timing to reach intended audiences.
Vendor Management
- Manage and coordinate vendor and consultant relationships and workflows, including oversight of contracts, deliverables, and timelines (e.g., design support, ad buys, video production).
- Establish clear and well-documented communication loops.
- Oversee production processes for multimedia and digital content, ensuring quality and alignment with Home Grown’s standards.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, or related field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong digital content and communications skills.
Skills/Experience
- 3–5 years of professional experience in digital communications or content management.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt voice and tone for different audiences and platforms.
- Demonstrated experience managing organizational social media accounts, including strategy, posting, and analytics.
- Strong project management discipline, including experience creating and maintaining work plans, tracking progress, and facilitating accountability across collaborators.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, communicate updates clearly, and keep projects moving through structured, transparent processes.
- Proven ability to work with moderate to high independence, exercising sound judgment in managing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to make clear, consistent decisions about what content to produce, when to share it, and on which platforms.
- Experience managing vendors and production processes.
- Knowledge of website management (WordPress).
- Familiarity with design and digital tools such as Canva, Adobe, Mailchimp, and Meltwater (or similar).
- Experience and comfort with short video production and editing.
- Collaborative mindset and experience working across teams.
- Experience in nonprofit or social impact fields preferred.
Preferred
- Familiarity with home-based child care or related systems.
- Understanding of messaging policy issues for diverse audiences.
- Graphic design and layout experience.
- Spanish and/or experience working with Spanish-speaker communities is a plus.
Work Environment: Fully remote position working with a national team, with opportunities for hybrid work in downtown Philadelphia.
Position Type and Work Schedule: Full time position, typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm to the candidate’s local time. Flex office schedule options are available with supervisor approval.
Travel: Ability to travel about twice a year for internal gatherings.
